PWS affects everybody in the family and it is very helpful if everyone understands what is involved in managing the syndrome. Friends and neighbours also have a positive part to play.

The genetics of PWS In the vast majority of cases, PWS is not hereditary and does not run in families. However, in about 5% of cases, there is a chance of PWS recurring.
