Media requests
We often get requests from the media for personal stories. If you are interested in submitting yours for this purpose, please contact us. Or contact the publication(s) below, who have sent in specific requests for stories.

Closer, a best-selling women's weekly magazine, would like to interview a young woman who is battling extreme hyperphagia and who has subsequently gained a tremendous amount of weight due to Prader-Willi Syndrome.

We would like to discuss how PWS affects you and your family's daily life. We are keen to give our readers' insightful observations to gain a greater understanding of the condition - simple things, like what it's really like going out to a restaurant and having to choose one dish, or seeing others around you eating other dishes and feeling hungry but not being able to eat all the time...

We'd also like to discuss how it feels to not have the same options in life as other people your age eg. knowing you won't be able to have children, have a slightly reduced life span and potentially immature sexual development.

We would also be interested to speak to your nearest and dearest about how PWS has changed their lives.

Closer is particular about telling people’s stories in a sensitive and professional manner. I can assure you that the interview would not be lengthy and could be done over the phone or in person, that I would liaise with you every step of the way and would be more than happy to run through copy prior to publication. We would also be more than happy to pay you for your time.

If you are interested, please contact me by email: louise.hall@emap.com by work phone (9.30am-6pm): 020 7859 8448 or by mobile: 07948 020798

Please rest assured that your enquiry will not obligate you in any way – it would just give me a chance to answer any questions that you might have.
