Me&Dee is a Derbyshire-based charity formed to create special moments and memories to both children and adults who have a life threatening, life shortening or terminal conditions.
The charity, which has links with PWSA UK, has a lodge in Perlethorpe, Newark, which is made available to adults and/or children who meet the above criteria.
Founder Maria Hanson MBE has very kindly opened up the offer to our families. Although priority is given to families who are dealing with life-threatening, life-shortening or terminal conditions, she will also accept applications from those who list Prader-Willi Syndrome on the application form. Recent bereavement will also cover a break.
There is no charge for this holiday, beyond a £25 fee for administration, which is refundable if a suitable date cannot be found. Please note that this is for accommodation only and does not include travel, meals and outside activities.
The lodge is close to Sherwood Forest, so you can search for Robin Hood, or you are an hour from the seaside or half an hour from the cities of Lincoln, Sheffield or Nottingham.
The accommodation is for up to five people (no pets allowed) and although the decking is ramped from the car parking area to the lodge entrance, the lodge is not wheelchair-accessible inside.
Holidays are available from the end of September, although October half-term has already been booked.
