Note from the Chair to the PWS community

JHorsfall • Mar 19, 2020

The following is a message from our Chair of Trustees, Danny Leslie.

To all members of the PWS community,

We are currently experiencing exceptionally worrying times. As the Chair of PWSA UK and a father of a PWS child I understand the fear, anxiety and frustration being felt by all of you, whatever your position in the community. Please rest assured that PWSA UK is doing its utmost to deliver the very best service we can in unprecedented times.

You will already be aware that in order to adhere to the Government’s social distancing guidance the office has closed and all staff are working from home. This presents difficulties in maintaining a level of service and like everyone else in the country the staff are not immune to the effects of COVID-19. I have instructed the team to focus as its main priority the answering of your calls for help and support. Other work will be paused so that we can focus on this core operation of the charity. Alongside this I have instructed the Trustees to focus on the obligations we have in ensuring we meet our statutory requirements and ensuring the CEO and team have the plans and support in place so that when it is time to return to the office for normal business we can do so as quickly as possible.

In regards to COVID-19 specifically, the team will pass on all information it has about the impact within our community that has been officially verified. If we have released it you can trust it is from a verified source; if we have not released something it is because we do not have a verified source.

Lastly, I wish to reassure you that the Charity will always be here for your needs, we have a great team and they will see us through this. I send to you and your families my very best wishes in trying times, wherever you and they might be.
