We launched our
Marathon in May
challenge earlier this week and we are now delighted to make this part of the UK’s 2.6 Challenge from Sunday 26 April to help to save the UK’s charities, and in particular, the Prader-Willi Syndrome Association UK.
Thousands of fundraising events have already been cancelled across the UK, so the organisers of the biggest mass-participation sports events across the country have come together to create a new campaign to raise vital funds to help to save the UK’s charities.
The 2.6 Challenge will launch on Sunday 26 April – what should have been the date of the 40th London Marathon, the world’s biggest one-day annual fundraising event.
We’re asking you to take part in the PWSA UK Marathon or in another activity of your choice based around the numbers 2.6 or 26 and fundraise or donate to support the Prader-Willi Syndrome Association via the
twopointsixchallenge.co.uk
website.
People of all ages across the UK are taking on the 2.6 Challenge with a host of activities – and we are asking you to join in by walking the 62,962 steps it takes to complete a marathon over a few days or weeks depending on your own ability!
Please make sure you follow the Government guidelines on exercise and social distancing when you take part in your challenge. Most people are taking part from Sunday 26 April but you can do your activity whenever is most convenient for you.
There are just five simple steps to take:
1. Make your PWSA UK Marathon in May part of the UK’s 2.6 Challenge or dream up your own 2.6 Challenge – anything that has a 26 or 2.6 in it!
2. Set up a fundraising page now on
JustGiving
or
Virgin Money Giving, call it a 2.6 Challenge and make PWSA UK your chosen charity. If you need any help, or sponsor forms, just call
Karen
on
07495 627331.
3. Ask all your friends and family to sponsor you and challenge them to do their own 2.6 Challenge for PWSA UK.
4. Decide your Marathon Route either inside your home or in your garden and start counting your steps until you reach 62,962 and have completed a marathon!
5. Let us know that you have completed your Marathon and share a photo or video of your challenge on social media with the hashtags
#TwoPointSixChallenge
and
#PraderWilliSyndrome. Don’t forget to send us a photo and a write-up to
admin@pwsa.co.uk.
We hope you’ll join the nation in The 2.6 Challenge to support the Prader-Willi Syndrome Association and help to save the UK’s charities.
